Living on Lucky Street

This is the story of a girl who bought a house and lived to tell the tale. And yes, it's really on Lucky Street.

The front porch reborn!

Today was Band Day at the Central Methodist University campus, so literally 50 high school bands parade marched down the street in front of my house while we were working on the front porch today. It was an amazing sight, but so loud at times that we were screaming at one another for a hammer.

It was a beautiful day today as well. We couldn't have asked for a better day to work on that porch project.

Early in the morning, Dad and Rick got the front walls of the house ready for the porch roof installation. By the time Ken and John got there, the supplies had arrived from the lumber yard and everything went like clockwork. I took tons of pictures to document their work, and I was really amazed to see so much happen in such a short amount of time.

The finished support beam and rafters look great!

It was time to relax on the porch at the end of the day.

I truly do feel like I'm living on Lucky Street!
